Barbecued Round Steak

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 -1 1/2 lb round steak, about 1 1/2 inches thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cut round steaks into crosswise slices about 1/2 inch wide.
  • 2 heat oil; brown steak on all sides.
  • 3 use a slotted spoon to remove meat to a baking dish; set aside.
  • 4 pour off fat, then place remaining ingredients in skillet; bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • 5 pour over steak, cover tightly with foil, and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • 6 uncover and bake for 30 minutes longer.
  • 7 serve with rice or potatoes and a salad.
