Atjar (sweet & Sour Cabbage Salad)

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1/2 cabbage
- 3 carrots
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
Recipe
- 1 cut the cabbage in small strips (a food processor works great).
- 2 coarsely grate the carrots.
- 3 put water and vinegar in a saucepan and add sugar, coriander and turmeric.
- 4 bring to a boil and add the vegetables.
- 5 cook for 8 minutes.
- 6 add salt and pepper to taste.
- 7 chill and serve.
