Atjar (sweet & Sour Cabbage Salad)

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cabbage
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

Recipe

  • 1 cut the cabbage in small strips (a food processor works great).
  • 2 coarsely grate the carrots.
  • 3 put water and vinegar in a saucepan and add sugar, coriander and turmeric.
  • 4 bring to a boil and add the vegetables.
  • 5 cook for 8 minutes.
  • 6 add salt and pepper to taste.
  • 7 chill and serve.
