Billy's Favorite Salad

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 12 cups red leaf lettuce, washed and chopped into bite size pieces
  • 2 plum tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, washed and cut into 1/2 inch peices
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup alfalfa sprout
  • 4 ounces walnuts, toasted
  • 4 ounces gorgonzola, crumbled
  • 4 ounces dried cherries

Recipe

  • 1 assemble individual plates in the order ingredients are listed.
  • 2 be sure to toast the walnuts. i put mine in the toaster oven for about 5 minutes at 350 degrees. when you can smell them, they are done but keep an eye on them as they can burn easily.
  • 3 use your favorite vinaigrette. we prefer good seasons prepared the "reduced oil" method. directions are on the packet to reduce the oil.
