Anti-martha Stewart Meatloaf

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 -1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb lamb sausage
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce or 2 beef bouillon cubes, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • salt (unless using bouillon cubes)
  • pepper
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 package club crackers, coarsely crushed (approx. 20-24)

Recipe

  • 1 begin preheating oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 combine first 9 ingredients in bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • 3 mix in crushed crackers until well-blended.
  • 4 pat mixture into ungreased loaf pan.
  • 5 bake at 350 degrees for 60-90 minutes.
  • 6 note 1: here at high altitude, this recipe needs 90 minutes to bake.
  • 7 at lower altitudes, it won't take as long.
  • 8 note 2: honey dijon salad dressing makes a nice substitute for ketchup in this recipe and gives the meatloaf an elegant flavor.
